Forest Village Homes
Forest Village Homes is a 6 new-construction rental units of one- and two-bedrooms, located at 540 and 511 Dayton Street, completed in 2019, which serves very low and low-income senior and special needs households through highly energy efficient, fully accessible/adaptable one and two bedroom apartments.. These garden cottages are reserved for renters with special needs. Each rental includes a washer and dryer and is fully wheelchair accessible or adaptable.
This rental project was made possible with a combination of funding through the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, Ohio Community Development Finance Fund, The Huntington National Bank, tap fee waivers from the Village of Yellow Springs, and a land donation from long-term resident Jane Baker. Forest Village Homes, which brings six new permanently affordable, quality rentals into Yellow Springs, is a first step in addressing the pent-up demand for affordable rental housing in Yellow Springs.
